Tully’s is my favorite K-cup brand and this Kona blend is a great medium roast. Is it going to be as good as fresh ground and brewed Kona? Maybe not, but most of these K-cups aren’t going to match that experience. This Kona K-cup is going to give a very good cup of coffee and you can’t beat the price.

3 Stars Where’s the Kona?
I’ve been drinking my coffee black for 30 years. I’ve had 100 percent Kona coffee and know how it tastes. Unfortunately, it’s quite expensive and not easy to get where I live. That’s why I buy Archer Farms Kona blend when I grind my own beans. It’s not too pricey, yet it delivers some of that great Kona flavor.

I looked forward to trying Tully’s Kona blend in my new Keurig B60. Don’t get me wrong; this coffee’s good. But if there’s any Kona in it, I sure can’t taste it. Although Keurig’s website says all Kona blend K-cups contain at least 10 percent Kona, there’s nothing on the Tully’s box confirming this.

If you want a good cup of coffee, Tully’s Kona Blend delivers. If you expect to actually taste any Kona coffee, don’t bother.

Like many of us, I’ve been tightening my belt over the past few months and decided to give this coffee a try. I’ve been drinking only Peet’s coffee for at least a couple of years now, and expected, quite frankly, for this coffee to suck. I was wrong. We’ve had percolator coffee makers for the last several years, but after trying to get the last three ~$50 percs to last more than a year, we gave up. We bought this HB coffee maker based on reviews here and elsewhere and have been very pleased with it. The timer works great for us. The pot hasn’t dripped or leaked a drop unlike a B&D model we had. The coffee still tastes great after 6 months use and we love it. We have recommended it to friends.

5 Stars A forty dollar coffee maker
I’d been shopping for a coffee maker for a while and when you read a bunch of reviews they all seem to blend together. You can get a fancy expensive coffee maker and hope it will last 5 years or get a $40 one that does what you need for 5 years.

This is the maker that will do what you need. It makes about a cup of coffee each minute. The carafe is wide bottomed so it sits very well under the brew basket. I think it keeps the coffee hotter to because more of the carafe sits on the burner. I passed on round carafes because they seemed to wobble when they sat on the burner and people complained that those makers tended to leak during the brew cycle because the carafe was not properly aligned with the brew basket. You won’t have that problem with this maker. You do need to make sure that when you are filling the water reservoir you pour the water right into the hole. If you miss, and you will a few times, the water runs right to the burner area through a gap between the brew basket and the space where the basket sits. The brew basket fits snuggly and is easy to change and clean. I’ve had this maker for 6 months without any problems. I brew one 5 cup pot a day.

4 Stars for a cheap coffee maker it’s great
I paid [...] bucks for this machine at Target (it was on sale). I melted the cord of my old Mr. Coffee. My old coffee maker required that I microwave the coffee not long after I poured it. This machine makes coffee nice and HOT! Just that fact makes a much better cup of coffee! One could go and pay [...] bucks for some fancy machine but for the price this machine does the job! Also, I’ve never had a coffee maker that you could set to automatically brew and I have to say that feature made me very happy this morning when I woke up and had piping hot coffee awaiting me…

Maybe I’m used to having cheap coffee makers so whatever flaws people are talking about I haven’t noticed.

1 Star Smelly and loud coffee
This thing must be made of inferior plastic; the coffee it produces stinks and tastes of petroleum. My wife wouldn’t take a second sip.

What drove me crazy was the surprisingly loud clicking sound coming from the hot plate after brewing. My guess is that it is the switch controlling the heating mechanism, flipping on and off at irregular intervals to control the temperature of the coffee. It’s impossible to ignore once you are aware of it.

1 Star Great coffee, build quality problems
[This review applies to the Magnifica 3200, this is the same as the 3300 with slight cosmetic differences.]

I bought this machine in 2006 after an almost-endless trawl through the internet reading owners’ reviews – after all, we are talking about the search for the perfect expresso here!

The coffee quality is indeed great. The only misgivings I would have about using it are that the knobs have no user markings, which means that if there are several people in the house using the machine, it is impossible to select the previously-selected individual settings. Also, the time before the machine performs an auto-switchoff is fixed at about three hours. I couldn’t find the power comsumption in the user manual when in “idle” mode, but I think it must be substantial since it keeps the boiler/cup-preheater hot during this time. Not that the preheater is any use – I warm my cups by first wetting them and then putting them in the microwave for 30 seconds.

More seriously, I have had the machine for three years and in this time it has broken down four times – the first time after six weeks, the second time after about 18 months, the third time after about 30 months, and again most recently last week. The first two times, the machine was fixed under guarantee, without any quibbles. I think the problem is that the environment these machines have to work under is probably the most severe to be found in the home: high-pressure boiling water, grinding, and the transport of the coffee grains within the machine. Maybe the build quality of the cheaper machines is such that they cannot cope?

While waiting this last time round for it to be picked up and repaired, I decided to open it up to check its build quality (I’m an engineer). De Longhi has used thin plastic wherever possible. The coffee transfer path is not well isolated from the rest of the machine – as a result coffee powder had dropped into the moving motorised assembly at the back of the machine (I think this was the reason why the machine ultimately had failed).

Others here have commented on the machine’s coffee-making ability. I agree, it makes great coffee. It’s a pity that, in my experience at least, it was let down by poor engineering.

5 Stars So happy we returned the Jura ENA 5
My wife and I love it. I won’t rehash all the good reviews that are already here. I only want to point out a few items that make this product better than the Jura. The grinder can adjust more precise which slows down the water to give a much better cup (not bitter). The steam is much hotter, so it gives more of a coffee shop foam. It produces a hotter cup of coffee and the water tank is much larger. Finally, easier to clean.

4 Stars why can’t anyone make a better steam nozzle?
I had a Kitchenaid Pro Line espresso machine prior to my DeLonghi. I must say that I prefer this machine in every way.

Pros:

Fast warm up

Easy to clean

Pulls perfect shots every time (once you get it adjusted properly for your beans; you may need to adjust it slightly if you change beans, so the strength is what you prefer).

Cons:

The only real complaint I have is that this machine (like a lot of others) is lacking when it comes to the steamer nozzle. The steamer actually heats up pretty quickly, but it doesn’t pull out far enough from the machine to comfortably get most cups under. I would give it 5 stars if the nozzle rotated out further from the machine and you could change the angle it sticks out at.

On the whole, I think this is a great machine and would recommend it to others.

5 Stars With Tinkering, Good Quality Shots AND Convenience
Bought this machine after heavy and satisfactory use of a Solis Palazzo over the last 4 years.

The DeLonghi Magnifica performs as advertised, providing convenience with, given sufficient patience and understanding, the prospect of also making quality drinks. The machine is a bit more complicated for a novice to use, compared to the Solis, and takes more tinkering to get a consistent drink. With that territory, though, also comes the possibility of making a better shot than I could with the Solis. I will explain.

We all pursue that shot with perfect extraction and aromatic crema delicately gracing the surface. Nothing is more fundamental. How does the DeLonghi do? For a shot of set volume, this machine gives us the typical two variables to play with: fineness of grind and quantity of grounds. I found it took a great deal of tinkering with those two settings to get the flow at that point of perfect extraction: not gushing, not dripping. Can be done, just takes patience.

Further, get the settings right for the one cup setting, push the two-cup button, and the results will be worthless. That such a button cannot be found on most comparable machines has a reason. Two shots means a thicker puck, throwing off all your careful adjustments of grind and quantity. Forget about that two-shot button, set things for a single shot and hit that button as many times as required by the lateness of your prior evening.

The settings are sensitive enough – something I have not seen in the Solis – that I find I must vary them from roast to roast. What works for a darker roast leaves a lighter roast mostly dripping out the delivery spouts. Perhaps a liability for those interested in convenience over quality. For others, another opportunity to get it right instead of settling for the lowest common denominator. Quantity of grounds wheel is conveniently located on front so such adjustments are easy to make.

Some other initial observations:

* After a half-dozen cups, my machine locked up. Blinking lights and manual told be something was binding in the grinder and to contact manufacturer. My examination showed that the chute immediately below the grinder was packed up. Bent little bristle brush and some awkward maneuvering cleared up the problem which, so far, has not reoccurred.

* Specs say bean capacity is about 7 ounces. Anticipated this being an inconvenience as I roast in 12 oz lots. The bean hopper will actually take 11 or 12 ounces with no problem.

* Buried in the instructions is the observation that, if it has been 2 or 3 minutes between brews, then one should do a quick flush, hitting the descaling button, to assure optimal water temperature. Easy to do but not something I have seen on other machines. I see this as a positive. Yes, another step but one that improves quality.

* Specs suggest this will fit under a cabinet 14 inches above the counter. True, but if you want to be able to open the bean bin and fill, 18

1 Star One start is an overstatement
I have probably used the coffemaker no more than 20 times; the coffee tasted great. Then it began to leak around the bottom. This morning, after putting in 6 cups of water and mopping 5 cups off my counter I decided to see if I could find a solution on line. Having read various complaints not only about the leaking problem but about DeLonghi’s customer service I decided to toss the thing in the garbage. I will never buy another DeLonghi product.

1 Star Short-lived — it’s a lemon
After reading other reviews, I purchased this machine about 18 months ago. As others mentioned, in the beginning it worked great. Steaming milk for a latte was simple. My real need was a programmable coffeemaker with auto-shutoff. It made great coffee for about a year, needing descaling only twice. Then I noticed that it was not soaking all the grinds, and the descaling warning lit more often. The steamer didn’t work, either, and last weekend the coffee side stopped working. Now I’m left with an expensive, oversized espresso machine.

2 Stars ALMOST a great product
I’ve had this machine for about 18 months and while looking for a new machine, figured I should review this one.

This machine has everything I want, makes great coffee and espresso – but it leaks. I read through reviews here and elsewhere, and it seems to be a design flaw in this and other similar models. I have to wipe up the puddle of water with every pot of drip coffee that I make.

Now I’m trying to find a machine that does what this one does, but doesn’t leak!

I really enjoy this multi functional machine! It’s the perfect combination of espresso for me and coffee for my husband. Also the frothed milk function is lovely for a warm latte during relaxing week ends. Just be sure to clean the frother every time you use it, but it’s easy and no time consumig!

5 Stars Great Tasting Hazelnut Coffee
Gloria Jean’s flavored coffee’s – especially the Hazelnut – are really good BUT you need to brew on the 7-8oz size. All of the K-Cups vary as to what size brew is best for them. It is not strong coffee, but brewed at the right size, it tastes really good and certainly does not taste weak. Everyone I have served it to has enjoyed it. It is not labeled as bold so I don’t think it is reasonable to give this coffee a poor review from people who only like strong coffee. This is a flavored “goodie.” Beats most of the flavored coffee’s I’ve tried to date.

Can’t say enough about this coffee. After slinging the glorified mud that GM passes off as Hazelnut Coffee (got the xtra bold variety b/c GM generally can’t make a 7oz cup w/ a regular K-cup – everything tastes like dishwater). Gloria Jeans actually makes a very tastey 7 oz cup of coffee, and the Hazelnut is no exception. I’ll not be sending my money up to Vermont anymore – Amazon and Gloria Jeans all the way !

Coffee has a really nice aroma, great flavor, and makes a very satisfying cup of hazelnut coffee. Not too strong or too weak, even with a full 8 oz of water added. Actually, it’s the only flavor I’ve tried so far for the Gloria Jean’s coffees, but it’s one of my favorites. (Can’t wait to try the butter toffee flavor!) I just ordered the variety pack.

I’ve found this coffee pot to be great for making camp coffee! It is well constructed, quite heavy duty, with very good perculating. The coffee comes out very good if cooked right. There’s been some complaints about the light-weight stem inside and I can see what they’re saying. I haven’t suffered any problems with that, though. If you’re not rough with the insides I don’t think you will either. I really like this coffee pot.

3 Stars Good Coffee with one major drawback
This coffee pot makes great coffee and will be a boon when the power goes off this summer as it inevitably does in South Florida. The pot, handle and lid are well-crafted and sturdy. BUT, the stem which holds the coffee grounds basket is unbelievably flimsy. It bent completely out of shape just from hand washing. Fortunately, I was able to bend it back into the proper shape, but I’m sure after one season, we’ll probably have to replace it. We own several Coleman products and this is the first one that has elements that are so poorly manufactured.

This is a great item for saving on the amount of coffee you need to make a pot. If you like strong “Man Coffee”, this will brew it right!

in our normal BUNN coffee maker we use to use 10-12 scoops of whole beans (ground of course), with this coffee maker we only need 6-7 scoops of whole beans for the same amount of water. The only complaint we have is that we need to use a heavy duty binder clip to keep the top of the “basket” on so that the coffee grounds don’t push the lid up and allow the grounds to spill over the side of the basket into the coffee. We like strong coffe but not coffee that is gritty.

5 Stars Finally, another good full-body K-cup!
I am writing this as I sip my first Newman’s K-cup, and it’s fantastic. OK, not the same as a fresh cup from my local Caribou Coffee, but it’s bold and dark, full of flavor, and not burnt tasting at all. I have found most of the K-cups I tried to produce dishwater, just not enough coffee in them to make a full-flavor cup. I have been drinking Timothy’s Midnight Magic Extra Bold, also very nice–just ran out, and picked up the Newman’s at Costco (no time for shipping). It’s a very worthy competitor, very very nice.

This is my favorite rich coffee. I prefer a dark coffee, but I don’t care for Italian or French roasts. This is very smooth and has none of the acidic bites that some coffees have. This is deep and dark and smooth and rich. Highly recommended.

We are new to the Kuerig machine and love it. Still trying the many different varieties of coffee available. This one is a keeper for sure. Newmans Own Special Blend is a great strong cup, even at the largest cup setting. (9.25 OZ on our B60 machine)

The problem with many decaffeinated coffees is that you do not get the full, bold taste. The same holds true for Timothy’s World Coffee – Colombian – Decaffeinated. The taste is good for a decaffeinated coffee, but is is not exceptional. Many of the k-cups, pods, etc. experience the same bold taste dilemna. If you want a good cup of decaf, this if an adequate choice, but I will try other k-cups and review them to find a more bold taste. If you choose to make a mug size in your Keurig machine the coffee comes out a bit weak to my tasts.

I really like this coffee. I am able to brew a large cup and medium cup and it is now weak at all. So far this is my favourite kcup.

The sampler pack included with my Keurig included Green Mountain dark magic extra bold which was the best coffee in the pack. I bought Timothy’s thinking it might be a cheaper equivalent. Have to say I’ve been disappointed. I’m struggling to get through one box and if I could return the other half of the two-pack I would. Newman’s Own is better but I’ll have to save my pennies for Green Mountain.

I have tried many different coffees for the Keurig and this is my favorite, by far (Caribou blend is next on my list). To be honest, some people may find the Midnight Magic a bit bold, but it is definitely the one for me in the morning. I guess I should have done the math. This press is cute. But it comes nowhere close to 3 small cups of coffee, not even two. The coffee tasted great, but the whole thing is more bother than it is worth.

this is my first french press, and i would have to say my coffee tastes soooo good using it. it’s kinda a pain to clean, but it’s worth it.

4 Stars single cup of perfect coffee
… and that’s exactly what you’ll get. A French press is arguably the best cup of coffee around, and that’s what you’ll get. It will just be very small. I bought it after not looking closely enough at the description — I wanted a 12 CUP press, so this just wasn’t the one to replace the drip coffee maker we use every morning here. We debated sending it back, and finally decided against it.

So I brought it to work, and it’s perfect there. It fits into a small corner, and makes only as much coffee as I can take away with me, leaving very little mess behind. It comes with its own scoop, which is convenient, though I like rather a bit more grounds than they suggest. Eh. It’s still a lovely cup that comes out well enough that I don’t need to put cream into it.

And yes, it does make a fine cup of tea as well.

5 Stars Great coffee at home!
My husband and I love the Bodum coffee press. It’s hard to explain how much better coffee is when brewed this way—let’s just say it matches the best restaurant coffee we’ve ever had. Much to our surprise we almost never buy coffee when we’re out now, although we used to do it quite often. Our coffee, made at home with the Bodum press , is so much better than what we were buying that we just don’t want their coffee anymore. Looks like we’re going to save some money as well as having better coffee. One word of advice—make sure the 3 cup size is what you really need. It makes just enough coffee to fill one of our medium sized mugs. That’s fine for us since one of us wants decaf and the other doesn’t. You’ll want a larger size if you were thinking to fill 3 typical coffee mugs from it.

2 Stars Not a great coffee maker…
I was disappointed with this coffeemaker. The coffee is luke warm and the 4 cups is more like 2. I would not recommend buying this coffee maker.

5 Stars economics is the key
This item is fantastic for people who reside in apartments or who are not heavy coffee drinkers. I find that I use less coffee so when there is a sale, I am able to stock up.

4 Stars Makes good coffee, filter holder moves around
The Elite Cuisine 4-Cup Pause-’n-Serve Coffeemaker makes very good coffee – comparable to our Cuisinart coffee maker, which is quite good.

The filter holder doesn’t seem to stay put after you put coffee in it and swing it closed; the top of the coffee pot seems to snag on it – need to hold the filter holder shut while removing the pot.

Otherwise a nice product; quite small, but big enough to make two cups (all coffee makers have too small a cup serving).

I’d buy it again.
