I really like the idea of the Moleskine, especially the elastic band closure and pocket, but while this is indeed a pocket sized notebook, it’s impractical to keep in your pocket because if the hard cover.
As the real estate in my front pockets is taken up by keychain, cellphone, and sometimes change and pens, and my right back pocket holds my wallet, I would need the Moleskine to go in the back left pocket, but if I were to sit on anything harder than a couch, the cardboard would bend and warp. I haven’t tried the soft-cover moleskine, as the reviews seem to indicate the glue comes undone quite easily. I’ve been buying the pocket sized MEMO pads (around 99 cents a pop) and they serve the exact same function I desired, and are less intrusive in my back pocket than a wallet, and they’re not ruined by being sat on. It’s not as classy looking, but it gets the job done.
All that aside, if you live in an area where you wear a coat with an interior breast pocket, or can keep it in your purse, it’s nice and sturdy and should last you a long time. My caveat is that it looks so nice I’m loathe to write down more disposable “notes to self”, grocery lists, etc, whereas I have no problems writing that sort of thing in a MEMO pad and ripping the page out when I’m done with it.
5 Stars Great pocket companion for capturing notes, thoughts, ideas
I am a pretty big fan of all of Moleskine’s products. This is a great notebook to keep handy in a pocket or purse for jotting ideas, capturing thoughts, or managing todo lists. Paper quality is excellent, and the cover is very durable. The elastic band, ribbon marker, and back pocket are all very useful. It is hands-down my favorite all-around notebook.
The only downside is that it might be a bit bulky for some front pants pockets. I use a front pocket wallet, and it’s tough to fit both the notebook and my wallet in one pocket. That being said, I do think they hit a sweet spot here in terms of size. It is small enough to fit in almost any jeans, trouser, or jacket pocket (in even fits in my shirt pocket), but it’s still large enough to do some serious writing/brainstorming, or even sketching. Consider using a full two page spread as one “page” if you need more room.
It’s true that there’s a lot of unneeded hype (encouraged by parent company Modo e Modo) surrounding the history of the notebook, but in my opinion the quality of paper and construction is unsurpassed, and definitely makes this product worth the price.
Overall, I love this notebook…I’ve bought many over the years, and I will probably continue to buy them for a long time to come.

This is a great idea however mine was missing the straight edge (most important!!). The company would not do anything about it unless I wanted to purchase a replacement blade?????
5 Stars Left-Handed Cutting Made Easy
Being a lefty is a gift, being able to cut a straight line is a challenge. I absolutely love the craft lite cutter. The fact that I can have a light under my projects to ensure I’m cutting here I want is priceless. I love the different cutting blades as well. The craft lite cutter is like other paper cutters. I would benefit from some sort of platform that holds the paper, the swing ruler doesn’t cut it for me but I just placed a block of wood under and it works well. I can not cut straight lines and even make them look fancy.
1 Star Virtually Useless…
The item is lightweight and it seems like a good idea – a backlight that allows you to see exactly where you’re cutting. The trouble is, the unit is designed with enough ‘wobble’ between the blade and the base that it’s impossible to cut a truely straight line. Following a printed edge, you not only have no real way of telling exactly where the cut will actually begin (despite the guide), the blade will wobble to either side of the line as you cut.
I like the idea of the additional blades, for creating perforations, folds, etc, but again, not being able to make reasonably accurate cuts means these are pretty much useless as well, in practical terms.

I recieved one as a birthday gift last October and just loved it! The light really helps with finding the correct place to aline paper and desired cut. I really like the great variety of blade shapes. It is so very easy to use, so quick and easy to change the blades. I wish it came with the power cord as I use it alot.
Liked it so well, i bought my Daughter-in-law in Florida one!

This is a great little book. I love Moleskine ! If you’ve never had a Moleskine, some of the added extras are an attached bookmark, attached elastic closure and an expandable pocket on the back cover you can place something and not have it fall out of the notebook or Address book ! My husband and I both use the Address book for different reasons. It is nicely divided with each letter of the alphabet having a few pages. I bought mine to keep track of books I want to read, have read or bought. I like many mystery series and I can list all the books by Author and look them up when we shop at used bookstores. My husband uses his for miscellaneous information. I think I need another It would be great to keep track of any collection such as music, DVDs, books, quotes, hobby information etc. It is so handy because it is so small and easy to carry around. I also LOVE my weekly Planner in pocket size. I think they are doing themselves a disservice by calling it an Address book and not presenting it as a book for addresses or any collection. I’m sure many of you can come up with some very creative uses.

I absolutely love these pens! I am a preschool teacher for 2 year old’s and I use these pens on all our projects, fliers, potty charts and poster boards. I had a set that carried only 4 colors and I looked in every store I could think of in our area to replace them. No one carried them. I was thrilled to have found them on line and also that there were 8 colors instead of only 4. Everyone thinks that I have great handwriting, but the magic is in the pens, not me.
